David S. York was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 18, 1939; Admitted to the State of Michigan Bar, 1969, U.S. District Court, Western District, 1972, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, 1993 and to the Western and Eastern District of Michigan Bankruptcy Courts.

Education:
Wayne State University, B.S. 1962, and J.D. in 1969.
Employment History:
Before entering private practice, David taught junior and senior high school in Livonia Michigan. He was then an assistant prosecutor and police legal adviser in Oakland County, Michigan, and later in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has also taught law enforcement courses at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
Professional Memberships:
Kalamazoo County Bar Association (President, 1984 – 1985). Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (Board Member 1991 – 1995) and DRI, 1986 to present; Associate member of the Greater Kalamazoo Independent Insurance Agents Association, and Past President of the Kalamazoo Insurance Adjusters Association.
